    A homicide investigation is being launched after the death of a man in Rotorua last night


    Police were called to Ford Road just before 8:30pm, after reports a vehicle crashed with a tree.

    The vehicle's occupant was found with critical injuries, and died a short time later.

    A forensic examination of the scene and vehicle will be carried out today, initial enquires indicate the injuries sustained are not consistent with a crash.

    Police are asking anyone who saw a white Toyota Hiace, registration DFR734 around the area, to assist.
