Horticulture NZ's emphasising the importance of backing growers - as exports climb to record levels

An MPI report predicts annual food and fibre export revenue will hit 62 billion dollars by next June - a three percent rise from this year.

It expects horticulture exports will climb five percent to 9.2 billion.

HortNZ chief executive Kate Ross says we need robust policy settings - to ensure growing businesses are profitable and sustainable.

She says that'll give people confidence to continue investing in the sector, infrastructure and other opportunities in horticulture.
