Expressions of interest close today for a new Primary Care Pathway for medical graduates

It'll let up to 50 second-year postgrads train in General Practice settings every year.

It's part of a wider package of Government initiatives to improve access to community doctors.

College of GPs President Luke Bradford says those students will get longer and more in-depth exposure to the specialisation.

He says we need to make sure it doesn't just take people already planning to enter General Practice - so trainee numbers actually rise.
