There have still been no sightings of a man who went missing in the Waikato River over the weekend

There have still been no sightings of a man who went missing in the Waikato River over the weekend

Police received a report of a struggling swimmer being swept downstream, near Graham Island, at about 3.30 Saturday afternoon.

Search teams continued to look for him yesterday.

He wasn't the only one who got into trouble over the weekend.

There were six separate water-related events across the country, resulting in two deaths and five hospitalisations.

Police say our waterways often have strong, deep currents that are changeable and unpredictable - so those heading out should always be prepared.
