Robert Irwin wonders if he could find love at his family's Australia Zoo

The 22-year-old conservationist - who insists he has "nothing particularly exciting to report" in his love life at the moment - joked that he could follow in his parents' and sister Bindi's footsteps by finding his partner at the zoo.

His mother Terri met late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin at Australia Zoo, where his sister also met her husband Chandler Powell.

He told the Today show: "I'm back in Australia Zoo. That's where my mum and dad met. That's where my sister and her husband met.

"Our whole family ends up meeting here at Australia Zoo so you know what? I guess this is the place to do it."

When the show's hosts joked that single ladies should head to the zoo to try and strike up a romance, he blushed.

He said: "Oh gosh! What have I done!"

Robert's love life has been a source of speculation lately - including rumours he was dating Marvel actress Xochitl Gomez after an intimate routine together on Dancing With The Stars - but he played down the general chatter.

Asked if he's single, he said: "You guys, I'm still blushing when you bring all that up. Goodness me!

"Nothing particularly exciting to report in the love department. I wish there was more I could give you."

The Dancing With The Stars winner recently admitted dating can be difficult in the public eye, thanks to social media.

He told the New York Times newspaper: "Holy moly, that's so challenging to navigate."

He added that it's tough to get out there knowing "anything you do will be on TikTok the next day".

Robert grew up in the limelight thanks to his famous dad, and he insisted he has "no persona to hide behind".

He added: "I never change what I say, what I do, who I am one bit, wherever I am.

"It's just me, and I stand by who I am."
