Aimee Lou Wood says meeting Julia Roberts "surpassed" her dreams

The Sex Education actress has hailed the After the Hunt star as "the ultimate human" after she met her at the Golden Globe Awards, which took place at The Beverly Hilton, California, last weekend.

Aimee took to Instagram to share a picture of her and the Hollywood icon, and she wrote in the caption: "@juliaroberts has always been my hero and meeting her surpassed all dreams. The kindest, realest and most generous woman.

"I cant express how f***ing wonderful she is. The ultimate movie star but, even better, the ultimate human."

Aimee's friend, singer Lisa Moorish - who had romances with Liam Gallagher and Pete Doherty - commented: "Can't believe Julia Roberts got to meet you! Lucky her"

The White Lotus star Aimee replied: "love you!!"

Julia was up for the Best Actress - Drama prize at this year's Globes for her role in After the Hunt, but she lost out to Hamnet's Jessie Buckley.

Aimee also lost out in her Golden Globes category.

She had a Best Supporting Actress (Television) nod for The White Lotus, alongside her co-stars Parker Posey and Carrie Coon.

However, Adolescence star Erin Doherty took home the gong.

The White Lotus trio, and their co-star Natasha Rothwell, were also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at last year's Primetime Emmy Awards - but the quartet lost out to The Pitt's Katherine LaNasa.

Aimee previously branded Sarah Sherman "mean" after she poked fun at her appearance during a White Lotus skit on Saturday Night Live.

Afterwards, she received "beautiful flowers" from Sarah by way of an apology.

Aimee - who played Chelsea in the latest series of the anthology satire - took to Instagram Stories to share a picture of the bouquet.

She captioned the image: "Thank you for the beautiful flowers @sarahsquirm."

Speaking previously about the SNL sketch, Aimee wrote on her Instagram Story: "I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny.

"Such a shame cuz I had such a great time watching it a couple weeks ago.

"Yes, take the p*** for sure - that's what the show is about - but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?"
