A man who threatened to blow up his Nelson home and neighbouring properties during a police standoff has been jailed

A man who threatened to blow up his Nelson home and neighbouring properties during a police standoff has been jailed

Corey Innocente barricaded himself in his Hardy Street flat in October last year - threatening to kill people and Police, while blaming a lack of government support over a family matter.

Open Justice reports the 36-year-old also fired a crossbow arrow into the street.

His actions forced the evacuation of an early childhood centre and around 50 nearby homes.

Innocente's been sentenced to 14 months in prison and ordered to pay nearly a thousand dollars in reparation for damage to a vehicle.
