Dove Cameron wants her wedding dress to be "inclusive" and reference her queerness

The 30-year-old star - who got engaged to Maneskin singer Damiano David last month - is starting to plan her big day, and she's going to be putting a lot of thought into what she's wearing for the special occasion.

She told Allure magazine: "I'm going to have to figure out a way to design a dress that feels inclusive of the fullness of who I am.

"I think it would be wrong of me to go too hard either way."

The Descendants actress explained that she feels "split down the middle energetically" between her masculine and feminine sides.

She said: "If it's my wedding day and we're both in suits, I'm going to look back and be like, 'Well, f***.' But if I go ultra-femme, I'm going to be like, 'Well, f***.'

"I truly do feel split down the middle energetically between a masculine-feminine energy.

"I always, always have. I have never fully integrated the two energies. I am authentically both of those things."

Dove admitted she is keen to wear a "beautiful white dress", but she's still settling on the finer details.

She added: "I want to wear a dress. I like a beautiful white dress.

"It's either going to be really simple - so it's not about the dress and it's just about feeling like myself - or something that is so avant-garde, so different, that it feels like an emotional expression."

The bride-to-be - who revealed the couple are still "early on in the process" of planning - insisted she isn't feeling pressured to follow convention with her style and makeup, but that doesn't mean she's shunning tradition.

The idea of planning a wedding is new to Dove, who wasn't sure she wanting to tie the knot before Damiano.

She said: "I've never had to think about any of this stuff before. I didn't ever know if I was going to get married.

"It was never one of those things that I had planned out. I didn't know what form my life was going to take.

"And now, I'm like a baby again."
