Fleeing motorbike rider who tried to blend with football crowd in Auckland had plan foiled by Police helicopter

A fleeing motorbike rider who tried to blend in with a football crowd in north-west Auckland last night - had his plan foiled by the Police helicopter

The 32-year-old fled from officers at a vehicle stop in Huapai, and is accused of speeding at 30 kilometres over the limit on State Highway 16.

He wasn't chased, but the Eagle chopper tracked him, watching as he tried to hide in a group watching a football game at Huapai Domain.

He was arrested and will appear in Waitakere District Court on Friday, charged with failing to stop.
