Taihape, also Gisborne to Wairarapa, and Wellington
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers until late afternoon. Thunderstorms also possible about parts of Hawke's Bay and Gisborne until late morning.
Nelson, also Buller to Fiordland

Marlborough and Canterbury
Scattered showers, gradually clearing from the south during the afternoon and becoming fine.
Otago and Southland
Fine, with areas of frost inland. A few patches of morning cloud about the coast.
