    *GALE WARNING IN FORCE*

    Tuesday : Northeast rising to 20 knots but 30 knots west of Farewell Spit to Hawera in the evening.
    Sea becoming very rough in the west.
    Northwest swell rising to 2 metres.
    Southwest swell 1 metre at times west of Cape Farewell to Hawera.
    Fair visibility in rain in the west.
    Wednesday : Northeast 25 knots, but rising to 40 knots west of Farewell Spit to Hawera in the morning.
    Sea very rough in the west.
    Northwest swell rising to 4 metres late west of Stephens Island to Hawera.
    Northwest swell 2 metres in the east.
    Fair visibility in a few showers.

    Outlook following 3 days:
    Thursday: Northerly 25 knots, but 35 knots in the west, easing to northwest 25 knots everywhere in the afternoon.
    Very rough seas in the west, easing.
    Moderate northerly swell, heavy in west for a time.
    Friday: Northeast easing to 15 knots.
    Rough sea easing.
    Moderate northwest swell but northerly swell in the west.
    Saturday: Northerly rising to 25 knots.
    Sea becoming rough.
    Moderate northwest swell.
