Super Rugby's top two sides are resting a swag of high profile players from round 13 this weekend

Super Rugby's top two sides are resting a swag of high profile players from round 13 this weekend

The competition-leading Blues have left out captain Patrick Tuipulotu, in-form number eight Hoskins Sotutu and wing Mark Tele'a from Saturday's match-up against the unchanged Highlanders at Eden Park.

The Hurricanes are giving senior players Brayden Iose TJ Perenara, Brett Cameron, Jordie Barrett and Ruben Love Friday night off from facing Moana Pasifika.

Going against the resting tide, the Chiefs welcome back Damian McKenzie and Shaun Stevenson to face the Rebels in Melbourne.

The first five carousel at the Crusaders rolls on - with their fifth different starting 10 this season.

Fergus Burke will make his long awaited injury return in Saturday's must win match against the Brumbies in Canberra.

Coach Rob Penney had hoped for consistency in the position after moving David Havili there - but admits he's been forced to pivot with Dallas McLeod and Levi Aumua injured.
