A big boost for the Chiefs for their fourth versus sixth Super Rugby match-up against the Rebels in Melbourne on Friday

A big boost for the Chiefs for their fourth versus sixth Super Rugby match-up against the Rebels in Melbourne on Friday

Playmaker Damian McKenzie is back after a HIA stand-down kept him out of the Moana Pasifika win, while fullback Shaun Stevenson's over his hamstring issue.

Hurricanes captain Brad Shields is one of just four players retained from the starting side from the loss to the Blues to meet Moana Pasifika on Friday.

Brayden Iose , TJ Perenara, Brett Cameron, Jordie Barrett, Josh Moorby and Ruben Love have all been given the weekend off, while Billy Proctor will stay sidelined after being a late withdrawal from the Blues match.

Coach Clark Laidlaw says they all took a fair few knocks in Auckland.

The Blues will rest captain Patrick Tuipulotu, number eight Hoskins Sotutu and wing Mark Tele'a when they face the unbeaten Highlanders on Friday.

Fergus Burke makes his season debut at 10 for the lowly Crusaders against the Brumbies in Canberra, while lock Scott Barrett is again sidelined.
