    Recreational Marine: Northland
    Marine Weather Situation and Forecast issued at 0130hrs Saturday 15-Jun-2024 by MetService

    Situation:
    A broad, complex low and associated fronts over much of the country drifts west today, becoming slow moving and deepening off the West Coast of the South Island on Sunday. A broad low pressure system remains slow-moving to the west of Aotearoa New Zealand through to Tuesday, and directs several troughs across the country.

    Forecast issued at 2342hrs Friday 14-Jun-2024
    Valid to 1 am Saturday for The Bay of Islands and inshore waters from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands to Bream Head.
    Strong wind advisory.
    Saturday: Southwest 25 knots gusting 35 knots, easing to westerly 20 knots early this morning, then changing northwest 15 knots mid-morning. Rough sea easing this morning. Partly cloudy. Fair visibility in the odd shower from afternoon. Northeast swell 1.5 metres, easing to 1 metre.

    Outlook until midnight Tuesday:
    Sunday: Northwest 15 knots, rising to northerly 20 knots in the afternoon.
    Showers developing. Northeast swell 1 metre.
    Monday: Northwest 20 knots, easing to 10 knots early. Showers, clearing.
    Northerly swell 1 metre.
    Tuesday: Northeast 10 knots, easing to variable 5 knots late. Showers.
    Northerly swell 1 metre.
