    Saturday : Variable 10 knots but northwest 20 knots offshore south of Abut Head.
    Rising to northwest 20 knots everywhere in the morning.
    Changing southwest 20 knots in the south in the afternoon.
    Easing to variable 10 knots everywhere in the evening.
    Sea becoming moderate everywhere for a time.
    North of Abut Head: Long period southwest swell 3 metres.
    Elsewhere: Long period southwest swell rising to 4 metres.
    Poor visibility in rain south of Abut Head, spreading north to Cape Foulwind.
    Thunderstorms possible south of Abut Head in the morning, then clearing.

    Outlook following 3 days:
    Sunday: Variable 10 knots.
    Moderate southwest swell.
    Monday: Easterly 10 knots.
    Moderate southwest swell.
    Tuesday: Variable 10 knots, becoming southerly 10 knots but southwest 20 knots south of Hokitika late.
    Moderate southwest swell.
