The front moves slowly north across the South Island during Saturday and Sunday, weakening away on Monday while the ridge remains elsewhere. On Tuesday, a low in the Tasman Sea extends a front across the upper North Island. Forecast issued at 1627hrs Friday 17-May-2024 Valid to 8 pm Friday for Inshore waters from Pukerua Bay to Makara Beach. Friday: Northerly 15 knots, rising to 20 knots this evening. Sea becoming moderate this evening. Mainly fine apart from some evening cloud. Possible evening showers. Northwest swell half a metre, dying out.
