Carla Bruni films Woody Allen cameo

Carla Bruni has filmed a cameo role in Woody Allen’s new film ‘Midnight in Paris’, which features her holding a baguette and entering a supermarket.

French First Lady Carla Bruni has filmed a cameo role in Woody Allen’s latest film.

The Italian born-beauty – who is married to French president Nicolas Sarkozy - filmed scenes alongside Owen Wilson yesterday (27.07.10) for ‘Midnight in Paris’ around the Pantheon in the French capital, and spent time between takes joking with the cast and crew.

A source said: “Carla and Woody got along incredibly well on the set. They talked constantly and laughed quite a lot between takes. Owen as well.”

However, the director did seem to have issue with one part, and had to keep reshooting a particular scene.

The source told People.com: “They must have shot the same set up, where she walks along holding a baguette in her hand going into a supermarket around 32 times.”

Carla has previously revealed she couldn’t pass by the opportunity to star in a Woody Allen film, despite having no experience as an actress.

She said: “I am not an actress at all... but I can’t miss an opportunity like this one in my life.

“When I’m a grandmother, I’d like to be able to say I made a film with Woody Allen.”

‘Midnight in Paris’ features an all-star cast including Marion Cotillard, Adrien Brody, Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen, but currently has no planned release date.
