Thousands of people are expected to take to the skies on the first day of Alert Level Two today

Thousands of people are expected to take to the skies on the first day of Alert Level Two today

    Auckland Airport
    Auckland Airport
Air New Zealand will be resuming flights between Wellington and Christchurch, and regional centres like Invercargill, Queenstown, Dunedin, Timaru, Blenheim, Nelson, Napier, New Plymouth, Gisborne, Tauranga and Hamilton.

Sounds Air will also resume flights between the main centres, and Blenheim, Nelson, Westport and Taupo.

Wellington Airport Chief Executive Steve Sanderson says people will need to scan in, wear masks, follow instructions... and be kind.

He says it's great that people can get out and travel to where they need to go, but they need to be patient and follow the protocols.

Limited flights will also operate for essential travel between Auckland, and Wellington, Christchurch and Whangarei.
