An eastern Bay of Plenty dairy factory's been slapped with a 49-thousand dollar fine for polluting

Open Justice reports the region's council took Waiu Dairy to court, for dumping more than seven million litres of contaminated wastewater.
At the Whakatane District Court the company pleaded guilty to five counts of unlawfully discharging a contaminant
Langford Transport, which carried the wastewater, also pleaded guilty to the same charges and was fined more than 31-thousand dollars.
The waste was dumped in a number of paddocks
