A standoff in Levin is still ongoing but Police aren't revealing too many details

A standoff in Levin is still ongoing but Police aren't revealing too many details

Bledisloe Street has been cordoned off since last night and a negotiator is continuing to talk with someone who has reportedly threatened self harm.

Some residents in the street have been asked to leave as a precautionary measure but nearby schools have been told their students can still attend.

Manawatu Area Commander Inspector Sarah Stewart says Police will be standing by to help those disrupted.

She says anyone who has been directly affected by the incident with a specific request or worry should contact Levin Police.
