Armed police fighting organised crime have searched several Wairarapa addresses in the past two days

Armed police fighting organised crime have searched several Wairarapa addresses in the past two days

It's led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man and woman and a 20-year-old man - alongside the seizure of firearms, drugs and cash.

Two have already appeared in Masterton District Court, and another six people have been warned for drug offending.

Checkpoints in the area have also seen five vehicles impounded, more cash seized for unpaid fines and several infringement notices posted.

Detective Corey Reid says it's part of the proactive action being taken with Operation Cobalt, targeting gang members.
