The finish line is in sight for one of New Zealand's most decorated long distance triathletes

12-time champion Cameron Brown will race his final professional Ironman New Zealand at Taupo next week.

It'll be the 50-year-old's 25th time competing in the race, having made his debut when it was held in Auckland in 1997.

Brown first won the event in 2001 - the last of his 12 victories coming in 2016.
