    Work progresses to restore power to Hawke's Bay communities - more than a fortnight since Cyclone Gabrielle hit


    Electricity provider Unison reveals there are still one-thousand-379 households in Hastings living in the dark - and 157 in Napier.

    It's today restored power to its Tutira substation north of Napier and will begin reconnecting surrounding areas over the weekend.

    Communities in parts of Waipatiki and around Apley Road are also expected to have the lights turned back on soon.
