A Rotorua man has been jailed for just under four years - for exporting and distributing material depicting child sexual exploitation

In February last year, an overseas social media app notified Customs a New Zealander was sharing child sexual abuse material on their platform.

Investigations led to a search at a Mangakakahi property, and analysis of electronic devices turned up more videos.

The 32 year old man was found guilty in a trial this July.
