KiwiRail's bosses are being called out for trying to green-wash the company while cutting back on sustainable transport

The company's Chief Executive has signed the CEO Climate Change Statement along with Fonterra and Z Energy bosses.

Rail and Maritime Transport Union General Secretary Wayne Butson says this is a hypocritical move from KiwiRail because it's cutting environmentally friendly measures.

Including decommissioning the electrification of the North Island Trunk.

He says the company's bosses are talking out of both sides of their mouths.
