The Wellington father facing court for the death of his son has been discharged without conviction

The Wellington father facing court for the death of his son has been discharged without conviction

Open Justice reports the five-year-old died after being run over in the family driveway when the father arrived home from work in January.

The man, who's name is permanently suppressed, was facing sentencing for careless driving causing death in Hutt Valley District Court today.

The crown prosecutor opposed the discharge, but Judge Barbara Morris says the family is already living with "insurmountable grief."
