Harrison Ford will star in ‘Cowboys and Aliens’.
The 67-year-old star had been rumoured to take part in the sci-fi western earlier this week, and the film’s director Jon Favreau has confirmed on twitter Harrison will be in the movie.
He wrote: “Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys and Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don’t tell anybody.(sic)”
Harrison will join current James Bond Daniel Craig in the movie, which tells the tale of a band of Native Americans and Western settlers who fight for survival following the crash landing of an alien spaceship in Arizona.
Harrison’s acting career has been quiet recently, although he has two films out this year.
As well as Tom Vaughan’s ‘Extraordinary Measures’ alongside Brendan Fraser, he will also hit cinema screens in November as Mike Pomeroy in comedy ‘Morning Glory’ alongside Rachel McAdams, Jeff Goldblum and Diane Keaton.
Currently in development is Harrison’s fifth ‘Indiana Jones’ movie – the follow up to 2008’s ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’.
‘Cowboys and Aliens’ – which is based on a 2006 graphic novel of the same name – is scheduled for release on June 24, 2011.
