Flo Rida ready to sleep rough to achieve rap dream

Flo Rida wasn’t afraid to “end up living on the streets” if it meant he could achieve his goal of becoming a successful rapper.

Flo Rida wasn’t afraid to “end up living on the streets” if it meant he could be a rapper.

The ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’ hitmaker said his journey to stardom started with his bible and that he was never afraid of the consequences of pursuing his dream, even if it left him homeless and broke.

He told globalgrind.com: “It feels like I'm dreaming now. It's just a blessing. I used to pick up my bible - that was that was the first thing I did. Thank God.

“After that I continued to work hard. I was never afraid to get no sleep, never afraid to travel across the country and end up living on the streets for something I love to do.

“I felt like God would have my back because he knows my passion and I would never give up. There was never a plan B.”

The rapper - who has scored number one singles around the world with his rap-pop crossover tracks – told how he knew he had a hit on his hands when he first heard the production on track ‘Right Round’ which is one of his biggest hits and also featured ‘Blah Blah Blah’ singer Kesha, indirectly helping start her career too, although she was uncredited when the song was released.

Flo Rida added: “At the time, when I first heard the record, I was like, I'm a big fan, I was like this production right here... when you play this in the arena everyone is going to go crazy. I knew that record was going to be huge and I knew it would definitely be an avenue to catapult her career.

“She was amazing when it came to vocal skills."
