Harrison Ford never approached by fans

Harrison Ford says he has never had the "exact experience" of a hysterical fan approaching him - unlike Mike Pomeroy, his character in 'Morning Glory'.

Harrison Ford never gets approached by fans.

The 68-year-old actor – who plays grumpy news anchor Mike Pomeroy who gets irritated when viewers recognise him in his new film 'Morning Glory' – is relieved that he hasn’t suffered the experiences that his big screen alter ego has in the movie.

Speaking at the UK premiere of the film in London’s Leicester Square, he told BANG Showbiz: "I haven't had that exact experience. Not exactly."

In the film, TV producer Becky Fuller, played by Rachel McAdams gushes over Mike in an elevator and later on a female fan becomes overexcited when she sees him, touching him and making him have his picture taken with her.

Harrison was joined on the red carpet by co-stars Rachel and Patrick Wilson, and the 37-year-old actor – the son of a news anchor – revealed his biggest piece of advice for fans is to be prepared for encountering famous people.

He said: "You know my dad always said, just have an opening line with someone, like if you meet someone super famous - just so you're not stuck going, ‘Oh my god, I love you, I'm your biggest fan!’ and sound like a complete moron."

Guests at the premiere included Australian singer Peter Andre, rapper Aggro Santos and British television personalities Chantelle Houghton and Kerry Katona.
