Madonna working to get fit for Super Bowl

Madonna is "working hard" to be fit for her performance at the Super Bowl XLVI Half Time Show on February 5.

Madonna is "working hard" to be fit for her performance at the Super Bowl XLVI Half Time Show next month.

The 'Frozen' singer admitted she has suffered some minor injuries lately - including a pulled hamstring and a sore nose after hitting herself with a microphone - but is doing everything possible to ensure she gives the performance of a lifetime during the break in the showpiece NFL game.

She said: "I have a pulled hamstring and I have a little red dot on my nose where I wounded myself with my microphone.

"I'm going to dance and sing my butt off for the Super Bowl. I'm working so hard on it."

Madonna also revealed a "very special guest" will join her on stage during the 12-minute performance but refused to elaborate on who it will be.

The show will take place at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on February 5 and it has been reported she will preview her new single at the event. It has previously been claimed the singer beat off competition from Lady Gaga to land the gig.

A source said: "When Madonna heard Gaga was in the frame, she knew she had to step up her efforts. She is going to deliver the kind of show never seen before in NFL history."

Other artists to have performed at the Super Bowl Half Time Show include Prince, U2, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, The Rolling Stones, Sir Paul McCartney, The Who and Janet Jackson - who caused controversy in 2004 when Justin Timberlake tore open her top to reveal her right breast during their duet.
