David and Victoria Beckham have donated thousands of pounds of luxury items to help victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

The couple gave 20 boxes full of clothes and shoes to the Red Cross shop in Chelsea, West London, to help those who were struck by the devastating cyclone, which killed more than 4,000 people in the Philippines earlier this month.

The 39-year-old beauty wrote on her Twitter page: "Proud to support British Red Cross #ShopDrop Donating clothes for #Haiyan survivors. (sic)"

She attached a picture of herself wearing jeans while she squeezed her petite frame into a white cardboard box.

Accompanied by an image of a huge pile of shoes, she wrote: "Big clear out of my shoes, on sale tomorrow in aid of @BritishRedCross #ShopDrop http://bit.ly/1iuh76e x vb (sic)"

Former soccer star David also donated several items from his wardrobe for the cause.

Victoria tweeted: "Don't forget David's clothes on sale too tomorrow in aid of @BritishRedCross #ShopDrop x vb (sic)"

And the fashion designer has urged people across the United Kingdom to help victims of the typhoon as much as they can.

She added: "David and I are supporting the Red Cross campaign and we urge everyone in Britain to do the same."
