Gold for the K2 500 pair of Dame Lisa Carrington and Alicia Hoskin at the Canoe Racing World Cup event in Hungary

Gold for the K2 500 pair of Dame Lisa Carrington and Alicia Hoskin at the Canoe Racing World Cup event in Hungary

The meet is the first of two European World Cups the Kiwi paddlers are using in their final build towards the Paris Olympics.

Carrington's told Planet Canoe they're happy - but not getting ahead of themselves after pipping Denmark's Emma Jorgensen and Fredrikke Matthiesen for the win.

Carrington and Hoskin were last month confirmed in a six-strong women's canoe racing contingent for the Games in the French capital.
