    Rowers shine at Henley

New Zealand's women crews have won their opening races at Henley Royal; Duncan Grant the only casualty so far

    4 July 2009
New Zealand crews have eased through another day's rowing action at the Henley Royal Regatta, for the most part.

All the women crews won their opening races, including Juliette Haigh who's has made a foray into singles sculls as part of her sabbatical from the sport. She says Henley is the peak of her year then she will get back into more training to earn her spot back on the New Zealand team next year.

Duncan Grant is the only New Zealand casualty to date.

He was beaten by Tim Maeyens after defeating the defending champion Ian Lawson yesterday.
