Katie Holmes has spent £400 to stop her three-year-old daughter feeling homesick.
The actress and her husband Tom Cruise – who are currently living in Australia while Katie films ‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’ – have splashed out on a large number of luxury goods to stop toddler Suri from missing their Los Angeles home.
The 30-year-old actress took her daughter shopping at Melbourne’s Target home store and treated the youngster to a bicycle, a ‘Dora the Explorer’ piano, a Barbie doll, luxury bed sheets, lavish home accessories and a selection of traditional board games.
A source said: “Suri is a very well-behaved and adorable young lady. She seemed really pleased with her purchases.”
Suri is not the only baby whose famous parents have treated them to a lavish shopping spree recently.
‘4 Minutes’ singer Madonna recently spent a fortune preparing her home for the arrival of her newly-adopted daughter Mercy.
The 50-year-old singer enlisted the help of her friend, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, to help make the youngster feel at ease in the New York mansion.
A source said: “Madonna wants Mercy to feel like a little princess when she arrives.
"She's stocked up on cashmere sweaters, dresses and silk tunics and has had a new charm bracelet made for her. It features a miniature bell, a Statue of Liberty, a map of Africa and lockets with photos of everyone in her new family."
