Morrissey jealous of neck brace
Johnny Marr has revealed his Smiths bandmate Morrissey was "envious" when he had to wear a neck brace following a car crash.

Morrissey was jealous when Johnny Marr had to wear a neck brace.
Former Smiths guitarist Marr was involved in a car crash when he was in the band – which was fronted by Morrissey - and was given the support to wear when he went to hospital.
He revealed: "I have never spent a full night in hospital. I crashed a BMW into a wall when I was in The Smiths - even though I couldn't actually drive at the time. I did my back and neck in pretty badly, but checked out after a few hours. I wore a neck brace - Morrissey was very envious."
One of The Smiths most iconic records is ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’, which features the lyrics, “If a double-decker bus crashes into us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die. And if a ten tonne truck kills the both of us. To die by your side, well, the pleasure, the privilege is mine.”
Marr, 45, now leads a healthy lifestyle, and keeps in shape by running.
The musician – who plays guitar for The Cribbs - explained: "I'm pretty healthy. People think that I live a rock 'n' roll lifestyle, but I've either missed doing all that stuff or I've done it and can't remember.
"I got into running in the early 90s. Now, wherever I am in the world, I just put on my hoodie and run for 20 miles."
Meanwhile, Morrissey played an incredible show at London’s Brixton Academy last night (19.07.09).
The enigmatic singer performed tracks from his latest album ‘Years of Refusal’, including single ‘I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris’, and a host of Smiths and other solo songs.
The crowd went wild when the 50-year-old star opened with a punk-inspired version of ‘This Charming Man’, with many fans in the front row desperately stretching just to try and touch their idol.
Other highlights included ‘How Soon Is Now’ – which featured Morrissey ‘collapsing’ on stage – ‘Ask’ and ‘Girlfriend in a Coma’.
Morrissey ended the concert with hit single ‘First of the Gang to Die’ - from his 2004 solo album ‘You Are the Quarry’ – which saw several fans invade the stage in a bid to embrace him before being bundled off by security.
