Jason Derulo praises 'awesome' girlfriend Jordin Sparks

Jason Derulo's girlfriend Jordin Sparks is nursing him back to health after he fractured his neck.

The 'Don't Wanna Go Home' hitmaker was injured while dancing three weeks ago when he accidentally landed on his head, snapping a vertebrae, and he says it has brought him closer to the former 'American Idol' winner, who he has been quietly dating since last year.

Finally confirming their relationship, he said: "We are together. She lives in Phoenix and she comes [to Miami] and takes care of me, brings me breakfast in bed and she'll go on walks with me. We've gotten closer because of my accident. It's awesome to have someone you can talk to and she's a wonderful person."

Although he admitted the injury was shocking, Jason, 23, says it has taught him to appreciate his blessings more.

He added to People magazine: "It was shocking because I've never broken a bone or anything.

"I'm taking it one day at a time. It's been really eye opening. It's given me a chance to look at everything and realise how blessed I truly am."
