Madness frontman Suggs' most painful show was when he fell 30 feet

The 51-year-old singer's most embarrassing career moment was when he slipped and hurt the bottom of his spine, although he bravely finished the band's set.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I was supporting David Bowie once and fell off the front of the stage and I landed on my coccyx.

"I fell thirty feet, and I had to get back on stage to continue the concert in so much pain."

Madness rose to fame in the 80s with hits such as 'Baggy Trousers', 'House of Fun' and 'Night Boat to Cairo', and even though they have been performing for over 30 years, show no signs of slowing down.

Suggs said: "We're hopefully going to be doing a tour at the end of the year in the UK. We've just been to America next week, and Mexico which is exciting. And there's going to be an album.

"It's sounding really good. It's coming on really well. It's very exciting.

"We made a pretty good album a couple of years ago and I think it might be a bit better than that. But who knows, I mean you only know when people buy it."

Suggs - who has recently completed a solo theatrical one man show - is also excited at how busy his year is, and can't wait to get Madness' new album out.

He added: "It's definitely the biggest year in my life, and I know for the band it's a very big year. There's a lot happening around the band, and hopefully, if the album's any good, people will like it."

Suggs is the ambassador of the new Camden Town iPhone App - Suggs will feature as virtual guide, taking visitors on a tour of the area, showing them the best music and entertainment venues. To download the app for free visit the iTunes store and search for "Camden."
