Daniel Craig: Skyfall humour will surprise

Daniel Craig thinks 'Skyfall' will surprise people because there is "a lot of humour" in the movie and a complex plot.

Daniel Craig thinks 'Skyfall' will surprise people with its humour.

The 44-year-old actor believes Sam Mendes' latest James Bond film is more lighthearted than previous offerings and boasts a more complex plot.

Asked what will shock fans in the 007 franchise, Daniel - who portrays Bond in the movie - said: "I hope the complexity. It's a good, dense storyline but its adult in many ways. It's also got a lot of fun in it, and people might be surprised by the fact that there's a lightness of touch in the movie that hasn't been in the last two.

"There a lot of humour going on. It's not that there are funny lines or anything, but there is humour within the script."

However, Daniel insists the comedy is subtle and won't be as shocking as Bond getting into bed with Dame Judi Dench's straight-talking M character, although they have considered giving the Head of Secret Intelligence Service a saucy bedroom scene in the past.

He added to Time Out London magazine: "We had a scene in 'Casino Royale' where she was supposed to get out of bed and there's a man in the bed with her. It was like, 'Well, who's it going to be?' - And I think Brad Pitt was in town - 'Call Brad Pitt up and get him to lie in bed. I'm sure he'd do it, wouldn't he?' Would you lie next to her? I would, I mean, I'm almost as in demand as Brad Pitt."

'Skyfall' is released on October 26.
