Ariel Winter wants nothing to do with her mother.

The 'Modern Family' star - who is currently in the custody of her 34-year-old sister Shanelle Grey after being removed from her mother Chrisoula 'Chrystal' Workman's care in October amid allegations of abuse - hasn't spoken to her mother in five months and doesn't want to undergo therapy with her to repair their relationship.

According to gossip website TMZ.com that 15-year-old actress's lawyer told a judge in Los Angeles on Friday (29.03.13) that she does not want to be in the same room as Chrisoula, who asked the judge to force her daughter to go to therapy with her.

But the judge refused her request and said he couldn't force the teenager to have a relationship with her if she doesn't want to.

Earlier this month Ariel admitted she has never been happier and feels like a "normal" teenager since moving in with her sister.

She said: "My life is definitely more normal -- and that'll help me grow up like I'm supposed to.

"Sunday we have family dinner. It's just a different experience for me because I have more of a family life. I'm really happy."

Chrisoula lost custody of Ariel following an investigation by child services last year, during which they found evidence of emotional abuse.
