Nicki Minaj will "absolutely" be doing more acting in the future

The 'Starships' rapper made her debut movie appearance in 'The Other Woman' opposite Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton earlier this year, and now has a taste for the big screen.

She told MTV: "Absolutely, I'm going to do other stuff in acting.

"I was super nervous, I'm not usually nervous with my music, so that was the only difference. But other than that it's still about trying to do your best."

The 31-year-old singer was encouraged by the movie's performance at the box office, where it opened at number one at the box office in its first week.

She added: "'The Other Woman' being number one was a blessing. I was really, really happy that people went out and supported it. I had a great time and for it to be my first movie and for it to be a number one movie was dope."

While her role in the film was only a bit-part, Nicki is currently hoping to land something bigger for her second role.

She said: "I am going on auditions, and I'm trying to find the right role with the right director and the right writers. I want to be part of something from the beginning stage this time, and I want the role to be custom-made for me."

Nicki is open to any genre, but hopes to make another comedy as well as a high-budget action film.

She said: "I have such a versatile personality. Some days I feel like I wanna do a Will Ferrell comedy; some days I feel like I wanna do more like a 'Set It Off'-type of movie with some other young black actresses and like creating a movement with that. And sometimes I think, maybe I could do 'X-Men' or something."
