Ozzy Osbourne felt like a "f***ing laboratory rat" on his family reality show

The Black Sabbath frontman insists he doesn't regret taking part in 'The Osbournes' with wife Sharon and children Jack and Kelly, but is equally relieved the fly-on-the-wall show - which ran from 2002 to 2005 - came to an end when it did

He said: "It was an experiment. Looking back, I'm glad we did it but I'm glad we jumped off when we did after three years of feeling like a f***ing laboratory rat.

"We went from being a relatively normal family to this f***ing family that was blown apart. It has taken a long time to get back together. The only good thing about it is that Sharon got a career out of it."

Ozzy insists it wasn't his decision to make more than one series of the show and he only went along with it to keep his family happy.

He said: "Sharon would say, 'Do you want to do another season?' and I'd go along with it because they're family. At the end of it, I was f***ing wiped out, my whole family was disintegrating.

"My wife was in bed for nine months battling colon cancer, my kids were all in rehab, I was f***ing dying. I just wanted to get my rock 'n' roll life back."

And the 65-year-old rocker admits he has never even seen an episode of the programme.

He told Time Out magazine: "I never watched an episode of 'The Osbournes', I don't like to see myself on TV. That's why when Sharon says so-and-so want to do a pilot for another TV show, I say, 'Sharon I'm a rock 'n' roller. I didn't join a band in 1968 to be a f***ing weather reporter on the f***ing six o'clock news. I don't want to know. Leave me out of it."
