Lady Gaga brought her own wigs to the set of 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For'

The movie sequel's director Robert Rodriguez - who previously worked with the eccentric singer on 'Machete Kills' - was desperate for the 'Judas' star to have a role in the film but didn't think it would be possible because of her touring schedule

However, a small part of a waitress came up and Gaga was performing close to the set, so they were able to cast her, though timing was so tight, she willingly contributed to her costume herself.

The director told E! News: "I told her she had to be in it. But we needed to find a role small enough that she could do while she was on tour. And then this one popped up.

"We were shooting and it was just a couple of days away. She happened to be on tour in Houston, just a couple of cities away from us in Austin. She was ready. She brought her own wigs! I said, 'We're not going to have time to make a wig for you.' "

The filmmaker was delighted with Gaga's brief performance and thinks she could have a very successful big screen career if she made the change.

He added: "She showed up, we did the scene, she knocked it out of the park and then she was back on tour...

"She would be fantastic [as an actress] The camera loves her. She's a great performer. She's performed twice for me now and I was blown away by her discipline. She studied acting before she became a singer and you could really tell."
