    Oritse Williams has become a father for the first time.

    The former JLS singer has taken to his Twitter account to reveal his girlfriend AJ Azari gave birth to a baby boy on Sunday and the 27-year-old star admitted he watched "in awe" in the hospital.


    He wrote: "I watched in awe as @AJAzari gave birth to our 1st born son on Sunday 24th at 1.49am. He is my Treasure of life! x (sic)"

    AJ also announced the birth of the couple's little one on the social networking site, revealing he weighed in at a healthy 6lbs 3oz.

    She tweeted: "So happy to announce that on Sunday 24th at 1.49am we welcomed our precious baby boy, weighing 6lbs 3 to the Azari-Williams Family. ...

    "....so in love with our precious baby boy!!!! @Oritse xxx (sic)"

    Oritse's fellow JLS band members were quick to congratulate the happy couple on their new arrival.

    Marvin Humes – who has 15-month-old daughter Alaia-Mai with wife Rochelle Humes - wrote: "Huge congrats to @Oritse and @AJAzari on the birth of their baby boy! Can't wait to meet Williams Jnr! Big love guys x (sic)"

    Singer-turned-farmer J.B. Gill - who took to Twitter in June to announce his wife Chloe is expecting their first child - also revealed his excitement at his pal Oritse's news.

    He tweeted: "Such amazing news!!!congratulations!over the moon for @Oritse and @AJAzari what a beautiful gift from God,can't wait to meet him!x (sic)"

    Aston Merrygold congratulated Oritse and AJ by retweeting his friend's original message.
