Kate Mara has split from Max Minghella.

The 'House of Cards' actress and 'The Mindy Project' star, who have had an an on-again, off-again relationship for four years, recently decided to break-up for good.

A source told UsMagazine.com: "Max and Kate have broken up and gotten back together a few times over the course of their relationship, but this one looks like it's sticking. The relationship just ran its course."

The 31-year-old beauty, who was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Monday, attended the event without 'The Internship' star, 28.

The duo, who were photographed enjoying a romantic stroll in Manhattan, New York City in June, were introduced by Kate's younger sister, Rooney Mara, on the set of 'The Social Network' in 2009.

The British actor, who is the son of Oscar-winning 'The English Patient' director Anthony Minghella, previously dated DJ and model Leigh Lezark, while Kate was linked to actor Charlie Cox and producer McG in the past.

The actress previously admitted she would love to have a family in the future, but has no desire to follow in her grandmother's footsteps by having 11 children.

She said: "To have 11 children sounds like hell. My grandma is smaller than I am so I can't even imagine how she went about doing that. I do want a family for sure but not that many. But yes I am very close with my family so that's something I want one day."
