Chris Hemsworth hasn't approved of all of his brother Liam's relationships.

He said: "I've watched Liam do things I did at his age, like being in relationships he shouldn't be in, or being reckless just to prove a point. And I had no empathy. My mom had to remind me I was the same way."

The 31-year-old actor - who has daughter India, two, and nine-month-old twins Sasha and Tristan with wife Elsa Pataky - credits his older brother Luke Hemsworth, 34, for helping save his career by making him less self-conscious with his acting.

Chris - who shot to fame on Australian soap 'Home and Away' explained: "Back when I was still on the soap, I became incredibly insecure and full of anxiety because I didn't know if I was any good. Yet I wanted it so bad.

"I spent years being angsty, constantly telling people I wasn't just part of a soap opera, that I was a real artist.

"And I remember Luke sort of snapping, telling me to shut up, that he was sick of hearing it."

And the 'Blackhat' hunk admits he had to stop being "self-important" after competing on the Australian version of 'Dancing with the Stars' in 2006.

He told America's GQ magazine: "After that show, I could never pull the serious, self-important card again."
