Simon Cowell is planning to take Lauren Silverman to watch 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and then stock up on raunchy apparatus for their bedroom.

The music mogul has joked he and his partner will be heading straight to home improvement store B&Q - which has warned staff to expect an increased demand for cable ties and rope from people who have watched the erotic film - to get kitted out with some useful equipment.

When asked if he's going to watch the movie - which features S&M-inspired scenes - with Lauren, the 'X Factor' boss quipped: "I'm going to have to aren't I? And then a trip down to B&Q afterwards."

But the couple will not be heading down to the hardware outlet on Valentine's Day - which is also the day their son Eric turns one - because Lauren will be out of the country, so the 55-year-old star is going to treat the raven-haired beauty to dinner and "whatever comes next" on Friday instead.

She said: "I'll take her to dinner, I'll be charming ... whatever comes next."

What's more, Eric's UK-based birthday plans have also been brought forward a day because of Lauren's commitments Stateside and Simon joked the little one has told him exactly who he wants to invite to his two birthday bashes.

Speaking at the latest auditions for 'Britain's Got Talent' - on which Simon is a judge - in central London today (11.02.15), he added: "We're going to do a little bit of a celebration on Friday because, as I said, he's going to be in New York on Saturday so he'll have two parties - he's sent me the guest list."
