Sam Smith thinks Kim Kardashian West's outfit at the BRIT Awards with MasterCard was the "best thing".

The 'Stay With Me' hitmaker was handed the Global Success gong by the 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star and he later praised her clothing choice.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I think Kim Kardashian's outfit was the best thing I've seen in my life."

In her usual risque style, Kim donned a cut-out black top, which nearly revealed all to the 15,000-strong crowd and the millions tuning in at home.

Meanwhile, Sam - who was also honoured with British Breakthrough Act - admitted he was stunned by his international success but thoroughly enjoys travelling around the world as part of his job despite being jet lagged most of the time.

He said: "Genuinely, from my heart, when I brought out this record I thought it was only going to travel so far.

"The fact that I was in Tokyo five days ago, the fact that I'm getting to travel and see the world is so amazing and so important, and the fact that I got recognition for that is amazing because I've been very jet lagged a lot."

Sam - who received the Critics' Choice Award at last year's ceremony - felt like the whole thing was "déjà vu" this year and was full of praise for his rival, Ed Sheeran, who also picked up two gongs.

He shared: "This is déjà vu, I was here last year. This is amazing and [the trophies] are so beautiful.

"I'm so happy that Ed Sheeran won those awards, I truly think he deserves them."

When asked what he wanted to say to his loyal supporters, he said: "To my fans, I love you so much, more than you will ever know.

"I can't wait to get my second album to you!"
