Sir Elton John dec lares his love for Dolce and Gabbana

Sir Elton John has dec lared his love for Dolce and Gabbana - just days after encouraging fans to "boycott" the brand

The 67-year-old singer heaped praise on Italian design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana - who angered him earlier this week by branding kids conceived through fertility treatment "synthetic" and admitting they "opposed gay adoptions" - during a Las Vegas show on Wednesday night (18.03.15).

He reportedly told the crowd: "Listen, the band have been wearing Dolce and Gabbana, I love Dolce and Gabbana clothes."

It is not known whether Elton - whose two sons Zachary, five, and Elijah, two, with husband David Furnish were conceived through IVF treatment - was joking or appearing to end his feud with the pair.

According to gossip website TMZ, the star's comments came as he was listing a number of people who have changed the world, including the late Princess Diana and Nelson Mandela.

Elton encouraged others to boycott Dolce and Gabbana earlier this week after hearing about their controversial comments, but just days later he was spotted carrying one of the brand's bags while out and about.

Stefano has slammed the 'Rocket Man' hitmaker for "attacking" the designers - who were in a relationship for 25 years until 2005 - insisting he is a "fascist" and "ignorant".

He said: "I didn't expect this. I didn't expect this, coming from someone whom I considered, and I stress 'considered,' an intelligent person like Elton John.

"I mean, you preach understanding, tolerance and then you attack others? Only because someone has a different opinion? Is this a democratic or enlightened way of thinking? This is ignorance, because he ignores the fact that others might have a different opinion and that theirs is as worthy of respect as his.

"It's an authoritarian way of seeing the world - agree with me or, if you don't, I'll attack you.

"I even posted the word 'Fascist!' on his Instagram."

Dolce and Gabbana's initial comments appeared in Italian magazine Panorama, in which they were quoted as saying: "We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one.

"No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed."

This angered Elton and he hit back on Instagram by encouraging people to "boycott" their brand.

He wrote: "How dare you refer to my beautiful children as "synthetic". And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF - a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children.

"Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana (sic)."

Several stars have slammed Dolce and Gabbana following their comments, including Madonna, who previously modelled for the fashion house.

Posting a picture of herself holding a baby while modelling for Dolce and Gabbana, she wrote on Instagram: "All babies contain a soul however they come to this earth and their families. There is nothing synthetic about a soul!! So how can we dismiss IVF and surrogacy? Every soul comes to us to teach us a lesson God has his hand in everything even technology! We are arrogant to think Man does anything on his own. As above so below! Think before you speak."
