Jason Statham has joined Instagram

He wrote alongside the image: "This is my first official post on Instagram. Sorry to those that have been following the string of phonies pretending to be me. From now on it's real. Cheers."

Jason's decision to join the popular social networking site comes less than a week after his girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shared an adorable post in celebration of their fifth anniversary.

The 27-year-old model uploaded an adorable quote on her Instagram account last Tuesday to mark five years since she started dating the hunky star.

Alongside the quote, which read, 'You will forever be my always,' she

wrote: "5 years..." followed by a heart emoticon.

The couple first started dating in March 2010 but they kept their romance underwraps for a few weeks, before making it public a month later in April of that year.

Meanwhile, the pair sparked speculation a few months ago that they had got engaged after Rosie was seen with a diamond sparkler on her ring finger but they later shot down the rumours.

The blonde beauty divides her time between the US and the UK for her work commitments and has admitted being in a relationship with Jason gives her "stability."

She said in 2013: "Many models are in long-term relationships for stability. Admittedly, not always with great men, but it gives them something to come home to, something grounding. That's how I see my relationship."
