Jeremy Jackson arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in Westlake, California

The 34-year-old actor - who's best known for playing Hobie Buchannon in television show 'Baywatch' - is suspected to have stabbed a man in the left upper torso before fleeing the scene of the crime, The Los Angeles Times reports.

The assailant fled before officers arrived at the scene of the incident, but the victim was able to identify his attacker as "Hobie", from 'Baywatch'.

The next day, the police were notified there was a possible prowler wandering around close to where the stabbing occurred and arrested him immediately.

Los Angeles police Detective Joe Rios confirmed that Jeremy was taken into custody on Saturday for assault with a deadly weapon, but was released that same day on bail.

Jeremy - who starred as David Hasselhoff's on-screen son in the popular series - has previously admitted to using methamphetamine and abusing alcohol, which led to his decision to walk away from 'Baywatch' in 1999.

Earlier this year, he was prematurely evicted from the UK version of 'Celebrity Big Brother' after he pulled open the dressing gown of glamour model and fellow contestant Chloe Goodman.
